Since we moved to town, I’ve been wanting to make it to Morro Bay to capture the sunset. I had the idea in my head that the Rock would be glowing with the orange light of the setting sun and the sunset last night did exactly that. As we drove out to walk the pier in Cayucos, the sky was primarily covered with a think layer of clouds that was blocking most of the sunlight from coming through. As we made it to the coast there was a thin layer just above the horizon that had no clouds. The idea for the shot was lining up perfectly. All we needed to do was get to the spot that I had the idea for the photo. Right at the Morro strand, you can walk up along the dunes where we sat and enjoyed the sunset. Another beautiful sunset in Morro Bay and our new home of SLO.
